A four compartment unit which permits full colour mixing in studio and theatre cycloramas. One of the traditional problems of lighting is to obtain an evenly illuminated cyclorama and this usually involves the use of units at floor level and at the top of the cyclorama.
This problem has been solved by the IRIS with its unique multi-curve reflector, which enables even illumination to be achieved from top lights only. The compact construction of the Iris coupled with an optical design which enables the units to be widely spaced has the advantage of allowing them to be permanently rigged with considerable saving in setting-up time.
The reflector is computed to obtain maximum efficiency from a 1250W lamp, so that wide spacing of the units is possible to avoid obstructing studio space that may be required for back lighting the main set. The units are normally mounted with the base level with the top of the cyclorama and at a spacing of 2.5m centre to centre. Size: Strand's IRIS 4 = 922x868x247 mm
