FREEDOM FROM BATTERY BELTS
Belt batteries are uncomfortable and bulky when you’re shooting hand-held. That’s why Panavision has developed on-camera brackets which use existing batteries to provide power. There are two versions of the bracket—one for Genesis, and one for the XL2 or Millennium film cameras. Now you can operate handheld more freely, without long power cables and cumbersome belt batteries getting in the way. And equipped with wireless video, the camera operator is free to move without any cables at all.
The batteries ride on top of the camera, along the optical axis, so side-to-side balance is not affected. A fore and aft adjustment is provided for balancing with various lenses and recording media. The film version is intended to work with 400' or 500' magazines, but can also accommodate a 1000' magazine when desired. The Genesis version is a great companion for the new SSR-1 Solid State Recorder, but can also be used with the SRW-1 videotape recorder.
The brackets have built-in V mounts for use with IDX type batteries. Adaptors are available for use with Anton-Bauer gold-mount batteries. The recommended batteries are either the E10 (IDX Endura 10) or the AB90 (Anton Bauer Dionic 90) for XL2 and Millennium cameras. The XL2/Millennium bracket requires two batteries to get 24 volts,
