Viper
The Thomson Viper offers a variety of settings which enable the cinematographer to create his vision. The Viper uses a 10 bit log format, which allows the camera to capture greater detail in a range covering 10 stops. This is the only Image Capture device which shoots a 2:37 image as well as a 16:9 image.
4:4:4 Filmstream
In Filmstream, the Viper is most powerful. This format gives the Cinematographer the most latitude of any digital capture device. It captures the complete detail of images in a data format without processing. This means all color and detail is available for manipulation in the pre-post and post production workflow.
4:4:4 RGB
This is a processed picture mode which allows on set manipulation of the color palette.
4:2:2 HD Stream
This data format is a 4:2:2 compressed data recording. This setting also allows available pre-set white balance. Recording in this mode will also save storage space.
YCRCB (YCB)
This is the same as RGB except a 4:2:2 output. This is a video processing mode as opposed to a data mode.
