Sony HD Portable Digital Video Recorder – SRW-1
The Sony SRW-1 offers high quality, high definition field recording in a small lightweight unit with increased storage capacity and higher data transfer rates than other recorders. The recorder can be connected/mounted to a number of digital cameras including the Sony F23, F35, HDW-F900R Cine Alta and the Panavision® Genesis just to name a few. When connected to these cameras you have the ability to create the highest quality images available. Connection is achieved by use of a single cable that carries all information from the camera to the SRPC-1 processor and then records that information to the docked SRW-1 recorder.
With the Sony SRPC-1 processor unit which is specially designed for use with the SRW-1 you have a variety of video processing functions, multiple input/output connectors, 12 channels of digital audio, four channels of analog audio and much more. You can record 1080-line high-definition recordings at multiple frame rates on HDCAM-SR tape media, giving you excellent image quality. With the SRW-1 and SRPC-1 connected, you have the ability to record up to 50 minutes of footage at 1080/23.98P and up to 40 minutes at 1080/59.94i or 720/59.94P on a single S-sized HDCAM-SR cassette.
The recorder offers full bandwidth high definition RGB 4:4:4 and excellent 4:2:2 Y/Cb/Cr 10-bit recording that is achieved by the new HDCAM-SR format. With a double data rate recording capability that doubles the drum rotation and tape speed, the recorder can achieve a data transfer rate of 880 Mbps with a standard quality rate of 400 Mbps. The high quality mode enables you to obtain the highest possible image quality.
With the SRW-1/SRPC-1 you have the ability to record and playback multi-frame-rate enabling you to shoot a wide range of projects including commercial and high end television productions. The recording and playback frame rates includes 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 50 and 59.94, Progressive and 50 and 59.94, Interlaced.
A detachable control panel connected via the supplied extension cable allows remote operation of the SRW-1/SRPC-1.
